Stories of Impact

Real stories of churches built, lives changed, and communities transformed

"

I've participated in 8 Church in a Day projects. The first one was in Giddings, Texas nearly 27 years ago when I was just a kid. Unsaved workers showed up and saw the unity of believers. Some found God on site. Churches had to expand after CIAD because of the community impact.

42 men showed up on one Saturday and knocked out walls and removed chimneys in a 50-year-old church with plaster and lath. The pastor said we saved them 6 to 8 months and around $50,000 in labor.

Wayne was a rough character who started attending church. He heard about a work project and wanted to go. He saw bad sheetrock work and said 'I want to fix that.' He stayed an extra week to fix it. The church bought him his first sport coat. He came back and became a committed part of the church.

We connected with a local church in Guatemala. Men's Ministry provided financial support, and Sherwin Williams Guatemala donated paint. We traveled to ChalΓ‘ and Tikal Pango and met a pastor mid-building program. All traveling pastors contributed money. The building just finished - it's gorgeous and massively ready for growth.
